Yorkshire's new AWARD WINNING! film photography archive
The lovely folk at CAHG / ARA have awarded the 2016 prize for the best new UK Community Archive / Heritage Group to The After Alice Project!
We're so excited we could burst!
What we're doing:
We are based in the Upper Calder Valley which forms the core material of our work
but since the news broke about the loss of the prized photographic collections
at the National Media Museum, Bradford we have expanded our catchment area
by popular demand and vowed to create a future-historical archive for Yorkshire
that will never leave Yorkshire
Familiar places from different angles
What happens in your street?
There is a big history in even small changes.
But maybe gone tomorrow...
What will tomorrow make of yesterday?
Salem Mill, First Floor, Hebden Bridge (Mondays and Thursdays - 11am till 3pm) (Saturdays - 11am till 4pm)
(We WILL be open longer, and on other days as soon as we can!)
Did you know...
Safely kept, film negatives could last 500 years.
Something for everyone
If you're interested in being involved we'd love to hear from you!
We have a range of donated pool cameras suitable for every level
A thousand words?
Tell your stories to the future and to people you'll never meet
A year of everyday life contains 365-and-a-bit days of wonder!
